Petrojam Ethanol Limited (PEL), is a wholly owned subsidiary of Petrojam Limited. Petrojam Ethanol Limited has upgraded and expanded the Ethanol Dehydration Plant with funds from Petrojam Limited and Coimex Trading Company of Brazil, to produce fuel grade ethanol from hydrous alcohol. Production of ethanol commenced in September 2005 and both PEL and Coimex have entered into an agreement to market the ethanol produced to the United States of America. The official opening of the newly refurbished plant took place on November 23, 2005.
