The successful candidate will be required to provide technical leadership and oversee the process engineering, technological and related services for the achievement of strategic, corporate and tactical targets, in particular, operational, energy, safety environmental and plant availability.
He/She will be responsible to sustain and improve operating profits, maximize production, plant efficiency to minimize energy consumption and losses by evaluating and optimizing operations and through the implementation of initiatives and programs.

Qualifications:
· Graduate Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management or equivalent qualifications is desirable.
· B.Sc. in Chemical or Process Engineering from a recognized university.
· A minimum of six (6) years oil refinery Process Engineering experience, or > 5 years Process Engineering experience in a major processing industry plus at least 4 years in oil refining.
· Registered Professional Engineer would be an asset.
Responsibilities:
· Supervises and prioritises the activities of the Process Engineering Group including the continuous monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting of Plant Operations and the performance evaluation of processes, process controls and equipment.
· Develops unit operating targets and key performance indicators to drive refinery performance.
· Forecast catalyst lifecycle and refinery shutdown dates, and recommend cycles for maintenance jobs.
· Assesses the ability of the refinery to process different crude oil types, raw materials and chemicals.
· Leads cross functional teams in elements of Process Safety Management, including developing Process Safety Information, Management of Change and Process Hazard Analysis techniques.
· Develops and provides key technical input into process information (such as engineering drawings, manuals, policies, systems and procedures to guide and inform refinery business process.
· Initiates and justifies project ideas, develops designs, feasibility studies, projects and improvement programs. Manage projects or participate on project teams.
· Reviews and validates engineering designs and equipment specifications as a key technical endorser ensuring the adherence to engineering design codes and standards.
· Prepares and manages the operating and capital budgets for the key aspects of the operations.
· Manages team performance, via alignment and cascading of objectives, training and development planning, mentoring, coaching, performance appraisals and Career Ladder assessments.
· Leads procurement of goods and services, evaluates proposals, negotiates, and manages contracts.
· Provides technical advice and on-site/offsite support for special 24/7 operational activities, emergencies or special events e.g. via 12 hour shifts
