











The FEED study is now underway with a projected completion date of February 2009. Engineering for the Delayed Coker Unit began in March 2008, following the finalisation of the contract and design basis. Design work for the other process units is in progress.
Cabinet approval for the environmental consultant was granted February 8, 2008 and the contract subsequently signed with Claude Davis and Associates. Work on the EIA has since begun and is progressing satisfactorily to date. Expected completion date is October 2008. Collaboration with JPS on the ambient air monitoring programme to meet the requirements of the new Air Quality Control act, continues.
Preparation for pre-qualification of EPC contractors has commenced. Draft EPC contractor pre-qualification documents have been prepared and issued. These are to be finalised and issued by the end of June 2008.
Once construction and inspection are satisfactorily completed, the installed equipment will be commissioned and performance acceptance tests conducted. On acceptance of the performance of each of the installed facilities,the refinery will start commercial operations.
Commissioning/Start up of the upgraded refinery is scheduled for the third quarter in 2012.
