Petrojam saw the need to provide a resource centre for the residents of Greenwich Town that could facilitate a homework centre, adult literacy classes, computer centre, cultural activities and sporting activities. A community centre located at 5 ½ Seaview Avenue was identified as the site to host the activities planned. However, this building was in a dilapidated state and lacked fittings such as windows, doors and indoor plumbing.
This is an annual event that started in 2006 through the initiative of the Community Outreach Committee. Other staff members volunteer to serve in several areas on the day of the health fair. Each year approximately 300 residents of Greenwich Town and other neighbouring communities benefit from free health care and other services.
Services offered at the Health Fair include: mammograms; pap smears; eye checks; physical examinations; presentations on rendering first aid; pharmaceutical products and NHF and RGD services.
Company personnel from the Safety and Environment Department work on national safety planning committees contributing expertise and assisting in the execution of training programmes for Industrial Safety.
Petrojam Limited also sponsors training for The Jamaica Fire Brigade at the Texas A & M Fire Emergency Response School in the USA.

Petrojam Limited has over the past three years awarded two scholarships to the top performing boy and girl in the GSAT examination from Greenwich All Age School. The selection is made by the Ministry of Education. The annual scholarship was instituted as a way to help motivate the students and hence lift the educational level of the school with the hope that it will also impact the wider community.
